Colony East (The Toucan Trilogy #2) by Scott Cramer Review, Blog Tour, and Giveaway

Disclosure: I received a copy of Colony East from Candace's Book Blog with consent from author Scott Cramer in exchange for an honest review.

It takes a really good story to keep me up late reading, but Colony East by Scott Cramer did just that. This doesn't surprise me though, because its predecessor did the same (You can find the review here). Colony East was an excellent follow up to Night of the Purple Moon and it did an excellent job of continuing the story of Abby, Jordan, and Toucan (Lizette) Leigh as they continue surviving on an earth where a space-borne pathogen killed every adult that came in contact with it.
Fortunately, some adults did survive and it's not a coincidence that among them are some of the greatest scientists and doctors in the world, who developed the life saving antibiotic within the safety of quarantine. And if you ask any kid about adults they'll tell you that adults are always helpful and never kill the fun... Okay I lied, because chances are that no kid will tell you that and the surviving adults in Colony East are no exception. Sure they created a cure, but when the only surviving adults have state-of-the-art quarantine labs and Navy submarines to thank for their lives, what can go wrong?
You'll have to read the book to find out what all goes on at Colony East and what the kids on Castine Island are up to. However, we all have to wait to find out what exactly the adults are up to and if their motive is actually beneficial for the surviving children who live outside the confines of their safe havens.
Let me finish by reminding you all that at the time of writing this, the comet Ison is less than a month from gracing the night sky. Let's just all hope that it doesn't leave a trail of purple dust in its wake, because if it does then we should worry if there is an actual night of the purple moon.
